"We Are" is an unreleased song by One Direction, and an outtake from their second studio album Take Me Home. The song did not make the final cut for the album and was left unreleased.[1]
The song was first recorded by Ed Sheeran, who wrote it years earlier in his teens, who then gave it to the band along with "Little Things" and "Over Again", it was confirmed that they recorded the song by the same insider who sold the song "Pick Your Poison".
The song leaked in full on November 27, 2023 through a Discord group-buy.
Background
This song is what Ed Sheeran called a depressing song. When he wrote the song he had in mind one of his friends who passed away when he was 14 and he wrote this tune whilst he got round to the point that actually he accepted it. His solo version is on SoundCloud in a very low quality. He then gave this song to the band and recorded it, but it was left off the final tracklist maybe because the backstory didn't match One Direction's lyrics style.
